We are working towards the NMX-059 verification. This verification is a Mexican norm regulated by NYCE (Normalización y Certificación Electrónica A.C.). which stands for Electronic Certification and Normalization.

What is NMX-059?

Is an evaluation and improvement model for software maintenance and development. It is based in MoProSoft (Modelo de Procesos para la Industria del Software, stands for Software Process Model). This model was develop by the Mexican Association of Software Engineering Quality through the faculty of science of the National University of Mexico (UNAM) as a request of the Department of Economy to obtain a Mexican norm that will result appropriate to the Mexican software maintenance and development companies.
MoProSoft considers that the improvement and evaluations methods of CMMI and ISO/IEC 15504 aren't appropriate for the small and medium size companies. Inspired by the levels 2 and 3 of the SW-CMM model and the framework of the ISO/IEC 15504 model is that this new model is created.
