We have a small place at the office, where we keep all our reading stuff... We have some art magazines, programming books, enterpreneur handbooks, sci-fi, Silmarillion, tech stuff... Basically, anything we like to read from time to time.

I really like this place, you can sit and warm a little under the sun. (click over the pic for a bigger size one)

I just bought a new retro tee at a flea market called "el baratillo" (like "the cheapy") here at my city.

I've just upgraded from Hardy Heron to Intrepid Ibix (Ubuntu 8.04 to Ubunt 8.10) and my notebook just started doing all wrong stuff.

The navigation arrows stopped working, the UP key takes a screenshot, the left and right ones don't neither the DEL key, the AltGr starts acting as an ENTER key...

This was fixed by following this post, basically you have to choose a different keyboard model:



And then restart the computer...

Anyway, the Desktop Effects are just dead now =(

Last night I finished a computer MOD project I had around my head for about 5 or 6 months, you can watch the instructions here even tho I would like to use Linux as much as I can, this pedal is only compatible (at this moment) for Windows XP... I'm looking forward to find an equivalent Linux application for the "AutoHotKey"...

It's a small foot pedal to hide all the windows with a silent and discreet foot killer-movement.

Mientras programo un sitio web, trabajo con varias aplicaciones abiertas a la vez, generalmente una de edición de gráficos (como GIMP), el Adobe Flash y Fireworks, algún editor de texto tradicional (cualquier notepad) y un editor de texto especializado (como gVim), y siempre estoy copíando y pegando cosas de una aplicación a otra.

Mi trabajo generalmente depende básicamente de 3 herramientas:
Programa para editar archivos de Drupal y CSS: gVim
Un explorador web para ver los cambios: Mozilla
Un sistema operativo robusto: Ubuntu

Ayer me enteré que Google lanzaría el día de hoy (a que hora Google, a que hora!!!) un nuevo explorador web que parece cumplir la mayoría de los requisitos que he estado buscando en un web browser y que hasta ahora mozilla cumplía casi al 100%. A mí me basta con que no se congele a media sesión, sin embargo, una serie de "estaría bien si..." me vienen a la mente y creo que el explorador de google podría cumplir ciertas funciones que podría usar como: saber qué página es la que está haciendo ruido (no soy partidiario de los sitios con música), que página está ocupando más recursos (el otro día estaba navegando en gizmodo, thinkgeek y nerdapproved y no podía identificar quién estaba haciendo correr el ventilador de mi lap... y que página simplemente no regresará del limbo después de ejecutar un script deficiente.

Habrá que probar el nuevo chrome.

... y esperar la versión para linux ...
